Caracas is located in a valley in the northern part of Venezuela, close to the Caribbean Sea. It is the capital and largest city of Venezuela, and serves as the political, economic, and cultural center of the country. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, the city has a typical highland climate on the western coast of South America. The climate in Caracas is spring-like throughout the year, with temperatures only a few degrees higher than Bogota, making it a pleasant place to live.
In Caracas, people can enjoy the sunny and breezy weather of spring, as well as the charm of tropical beaches, earning the city the reputation of being the “unique capital of the South American continent”. Bolivar Square is the most famous square in Caracas, with a bronze statue of Simon Bolivar and the National Assembly building in the center, flanked by the Presidential Palace and the Cabinet building. The eastern part of the city is the cultural district, where the Central University of Venezuela, art galleries, libraries, and museums are located; to the north, there is the Avila National Park with lush forests and beautiful scenery, a well-known tourist destination.
Parks can be found everywhere in the heart of Caracas, adding a lot of color to the city. The parks are shaded by green trees, and the combination of trees, lawns, and fountains creates a picturesque scene, with water from fountains splashing on the lush green grass.
