The Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex is located in Ninh Binh Province, south of the Red River Plain in Vietnam, in the southern part of the Red River Delta. It includes three main protected areas: the Huế Ancient Capital National Special Heritage Site, the Trang An Scenic Landscape – Sân Vận – Bích Động National Special Heritage Site, and the Huế Special-Use Forest Area. In 2014, it was inscribed as the world’s first mixed natural and cultural heritage site, becoming Vietnam’s first mixed heritage property.

With a total area of 4,000 hectares, the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex consists entirely of Trang An limestone formations. Meeting all criteria for cultural, aesthetic, geological, and topographical values, it has been recognized as a world cultural and natural heritage site. This scenic complex is currently the only one in the world that has been preserved in its original state and continues to inherit and promote its cultural and natural values, making it one of the most beautiful scenic areas in Southeast Asia.
