Mkhaya Game Reserve is an important conservation area located in the Lubombo District of southeastern Eswatini. The name comes from the Mkhaya tree found in the area. Established in 1979, it was primarily created to save the endangered Nguni cattle from extinction and later expanded to accommodate other endangered wildlife.

This crucial reserve is a haven for endangered animals, currently providing protection for species such as Nguni cattle, black rhinos, impalas, duikers, steenboks, white rhinos, elephants, as well as some rare endangered local wildlife. Visitors can interact with some of the wildlife and even feed rhinos, elephants, giraffes, and more. The reserve is also home to a variety of bird species, including the green malkoha, purple-crested turaco, African emerald cuckoo, four-colored bushshrike, and pink-throated twinspot.
