Dschang is a city in the northwest of Cameroon, under the jurisdiction of the West Region, located approximately 400 kilometers from the capital city, Yaoundé, at an altitude of 1380 meters. It was an important agricultural center since colonial times, serving as a primary gathering place for the Bamileke people and the location of the University of Dschang.

Due to its high altitude, Dschang is highly favored for its cool temperatures and charming scenery, making it a popular mountain resort. In early 2011, the Civilization Museum of Cameroon in Dschang (Musée des Civilisations du Cameroun à Dschang) was opened with the aim of allowing more people to understand the diversity of Cameroonian culture through history, including its art, architecture, politics, and social organization.
