Auric Gold – Auric Gold Travel Guide

Holguín is the capital of Holguín Province in eastern Cuba, established in 1545 and named after the city’s founder, a Spanish officer. Although not a very large city, it has many places worth visiting and savoring. There are pristine white beaches on the outskirts of the city for visitors to enjoy.

Holguín is known as the “City of Parks” and boasts several small parks, including Jose Marti Park, San Isidoro Park, Marti Park, etc., serving as the main leisure and entertainment venues for the residents. If you want to learn about the history, culture, and scientific development of this city, then museums like the History Museum, Science Museum, and Holguín Province Museum are ideal places to visit. Loma de la Cruz, a 261-meter-high hill to the north of the city, is a must-visit for tourists and artists. Its name comes from a wooden cross placed on the hilltop, with the first cross erected in 1790 and the current one in place since 1950.
